General

Does the film get installed on the inside of the glass or the outside?

Our safety film is installed on the inside surface of your existing windows.

What is the difference between window tint and safety film?

A.C.E. security film is five times thicker than most window tint. In addition, A.C.E. security film also uses a pressure sensitive adhesive that forms a physical bond with glass. The combination of increased thickness and aggressive adhesive greatly increases the ability to absorb the energy of an impact and keep the glass intact.

Will A.C.E. security film stop fading?

No security film can completely eliminate fading. However, our A.C.E. film blocks 98% of ultra violet light which can significantly reduce the rate of fading of furniture, carpets and floors.

Cutting the Film

Why is there a small gap between the edge of the film and the frame edge of glass?

There has to be a small gap (1/16 - 1/8 inch) along the edge to allow for the removal of the 'slip solution' used when installing our A.C.E. film. Also, in warm temperatures the film can expand. If there is no room for it to expand it will touch the edge of the frame and lift off the glass causing a "finger" to appear which means the film will have to be replaced.

Cleaning the Window

Can A.C.E. security film be installed over existing tint, stickers or decals on my windows?

No. Any material adhered to the inside surface of the glass must be removed in order to properly install our A.C.E. film.

Why do I need to use a razor to clean my window?

It is essential to install A.C.E. security film on a clean window. Using a razor ensures any dirt and adhesive residue is removed before installation.

Maintenance and Cleaning

How should I clean my windows after A.C.E. security film is applied?

Do not wash windows for 30-60 days after installation to allow for curing of our film. After this period, common glass cleaning solutions such as water, water/alcohol mixtures or ammonia based mixtures – which do not contain abrasive materials – may be used. Use a soft cloth, paper towel or squeegee. Do not use any material that is abrasive.
